Business Administration with concentration in Management

I chose OLHCC because I really liked the atmosphere on campus. I went to a small high school in Thibodaux, and I liked that I knew everyone I graduated with. I wanted to be able to have the same experience in college. I knew that at OLHCC I was not going to just be a number in the system, I was going to be a person with a name that people would know!
My experiences so far have been great. I have been able to meet so many new people and make many new friends. One of my favorite things about going to class is the comfortable atmosphere before class starts! Since we all know each other, we just sit around and talk waiting for the teacher to come. Everything is so relaxed.
I haven't had many opportunities to use my education from OLHCC just yet. I have, however, been a student worker for the past two years in the Business Office, and there are often things that I learn in class that I use at work! That has helped me a great deal in learning the processes of the Business world.
Take your education seriously from the beginning. Often freshman come in thinking that there is minimal work to be done, and that they can "slack off." Not doing the work will not get you anywhere, and when you do get out into your field of choice, you won't be prepared!!
If I could change one thing about OLHCC it would be the organization of the offices on campus. I actually work on campus, and I see how frustrated the students get when they are sent from one office to another. They feel like they are getting the "run - around!"
My favorite memory of OLHCC is the SGA/Alumni Crawfish Boil. I was able to attend the crawfish boil my freshman year, and I had a great time. The people there were so fun to be with, and it was a beautiful day!! I hope that I am able to attend many more in the future!
I would definitely do it all over again. I love living in New Orleans, and being a part of such a great school!
