2011 Walk for the Hungry

It was no picnic rising early on a Saturday morning, but it didn't take long before the fun kicked into high gear! The 30th Annual Walk for the Hungry, sponsored by Bread for the World New Orleans, took place on Saturday, March 19th, at 8 am. It's a 4 mile walk that challenges participants to discover ways to show kindness to others, acknowledging issues like homelessness, hunger, pollution, and others that plague our communities.
Student Life extends a huge Thank You to the following OLHCC students, faculty, and staff who participated:
Annette McGee, Ashley Webb, Eugenie Stevens, Rachel Crum, and Marcia Harris; faculty & staff members, Dr. Raenell Houston, Mary Pat Barth, and Jennifer Tubwell; plus the friends and family members who joined us.
It was an effort worthy of sacrificing a Saturday morning. The energy was contagious. We hope you will join us next year - I'm already looking forward!
