Pinning Ceremony

At the end of each academic year, the Department holds the pinning ceremony, a time-honored nursing school tradition dating back before the turn of the twentieth century. The junior and senior students receive a bar to wear on their uniforms, while the graduates receive the Department pin signifying successful completion of the baccalaureate nursing curriculum. This important and emotional ceremony also recognizes the new juniors and seniors for their achievements and progression in the Division of Nursing, as well as marking the passage of the graduates to the practice role.
