On October 23, 2008 over 125 friends of Our Lady of Holy Cross College attended a formal blessing and ribbon cutting of the new nursing and biology laboratories. These labs are a key component to expanding the College's nursing program and continuing the excellent quality of an OLHCC education.
In the Spring and Summer of 2007, the College worked with members of the Louisiana legislative delegation, to obtain funding for the College's science and nursing labs.
As a result of this work, $1,000,000 was awarded to the College for expansion and renovation of the science and nursing labs to enhance our programs in the health sciences. Combined with other gifts to this effort, $1,450,000 has been pledged for the science and nursing labs. These labs will enable our students to become competent professionals in service to the larger community.
Thanks to all of the generous supporters of this effort, including the State of Louisiana, the Booth-Bricker Fund, Ochsner Health System, and the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, to provide our students with the best quality biology and nursing lab facilities.
