Biology Faculty Position

Our Lady of Holy Cross College's Biology and Physical Sciences Department invites applications for a full-time biology position. This is a full time position (nine month contract period) at a non-tenure college. The position will begin with the fall 2014 semester. Academic rank is commensurate with credentials, background and experience.

Position Description: The applicant must be available to teach beginning in the fall 2014 semester. A twelve undergraduate credit hour course teaching load is required. The applicant will be responsible for lecture and laboratory instruction where laboratory is part of the course curriculum. The applicant will be responsible for fostering the mission of the College through teaching, research and service. The applicant will be required to engage in outcomes assessment and work continuously to promote course and program improvement.

Qualifications: A terminal degree is required with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in biology. Prior experience teaching and academic advising in higher education is preferred. The applicant will have a background in organismal biology and environmental science and be able to teach core content in this area. The ideal applicant will be familiar with the "Vision and Change" principals of instruction to develop innovative instructional practices, collaborate with departmental faculty, and demonstrate student-centeredness. Technological expertise, and experience teaching online courses, is a plus.

Economics Faculty Position

Our Lady of Holy Cross College’s Business Administration Department invites applications for a full‐time economics instructor’s position. This is a nine‐month, non‐tenured appointment. Faculty rank is commensurate with credentials, background and experience.

Position Description: The applicant must be available to teach beginning in the fall 2014 semester. A twelve undergraduate credit hour course teaching load is required. The applicant will be responsible for fostering the mission of the College through teaching, research and service. The applicant will be required to engage in outcomes assessment and work continuously to promote course and program improvement.

Qualifications: A doctorate is required with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in economics. The applicant must also be qualified to teach business statistics. Prior experience teaching and academic advising in higher education is preferred. The ideal applicant will utilize innovative instructional practices, collaborate with departmental faculty, and demonstrate student‐centeredness. Technological expertise, and experience teaching online courses, is a plus.

Physics Faculty Adjunct Position

Our Lady of Holy Cross College’s Department of Biology and Physical Sciences invites applications for an adjunct physics position. This is a non-tenured appointment beginning August 25, 2014.

Position Description: The applicant must be qualified to teach lecture and laboratory sections of General Physics to students majoring in science and allied health. The applicant will be responsible for fostering the mission of the College and engaging in outcomes assessment with the goal of promoting course and program improvement. The successful applicant could be considered for conversion to a full time position in the future.

Qualifications: A master’s degree is required with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in physics. All areas of specializations will be considered. A PhD or ABD in physics is preferred. Experience teaching in higher education and technological expertise are pluses. The ideal applicant will utilize innovative instructional practices, collaborate with departmental faculty, and demonstrate a strong commitment to effective undergraduate education.
