Scholarship Requirements
Students applying for scholarships at Our Lady of Holy Cross College must meet the following requirements prior to the January 1st deadline. Applicants must:
- Have no outstanding financial obligations at OLHCC.
- During the semester, enroll for at least 12 semester hours for undergraduates and 9 semester hours for graduate students
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, (the Moreau and Presidential scholarships require a 3.5 GPA and an ACT score of 23 or higher.)
- Continuing and transfer students must have completed a minimum of 12 college level credits
In addition, new students must submit:
- A completed Application for Admission to Our Lady of Holy Cross College.
- Payment of the admissions application fee. ($25.00)
- A current high school transcript or transcripts from previous colleges attended, sent directly from the previous institution's Registrar's Office to the OLHCC Enrollment Service Office.
- High School Seniors must submit ACT scores showing a minimum of 20 composite.
- Also apply for Financial Aid by completing the FAFSA at http://www.FAFSA.ed.gov . (OLHCC school code 002023) This must be completed before disbursement.
Graduate students are expected to have the following academic qualifications
(Note - Applicants must first be admitted to the graduate program):
- A baccalaureate degree from a university or college approved by a recognized regional accrediting agency in the United States or proof of equivalent training at a foreign university.
- A record of undergraduate study that would be predictive of success in graduate studies. This requires a degree in education, social sciences, or a related field with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Satisfactory academic standing at the last university or college attended.
- Completion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Test scores must meet the following minimum standards or else be retaken. For the GRE, a score of not less than 800 is required. For the MAT, a score of not less than 40% in the area of specialty is required.
