Penny Winfield, MSN, RNC

Abstract

Mrs. Winfield came to Our Lady of Holy Cross College in 2002 as a part-time instructor. She became a full time assistant professor in the division of nursing in 2009. She has 16 years of medical/surgical experience and 4 years of pediatric nursing. She has also served as a clinical instructor at Dillard University School of Nursing. She was a clinical orientation instructor nurse on the medical surgical unit at East Jefferson General Hospital for 5 years. She was a Great 100 Nurse in 1994.

Mrs. Winfield currently holds certification in Medical Surgical Nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a Basic Life Support Instructor, a Heartsaver First Aid Instructor and an ACLS Provider with the American Heart Association. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Omicron Delta Chapter. She was awarded the Booth Bricker Fund Endowed Professorship for the 2011-2012 calendar year.
