Department/Program: Counseling and Behavioral Sciences
Dr. Carolyn White received an M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of New Orleans. Dr. White is Chair of the Department of Counseling and Behavioral Sciences and Director of Counseling Programs at Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She is the coordinator of the community counseling program. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate counseling courses at Our Lady of Holy Cross College since 1998.
Dr. White is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana, a board approved LPC supervisor in Louisiana, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana. Her research interests are in the areas of gerontological counseling, group counseling, sexual trauma, and supervision. She has presented at numerous professional conferences on the topics of counseling older adults, group counseling, qualitative research, sexual trauma, and graduate student stress. Dr. White maintains a private practice in counseling in the New Orleans area, is a certified Gestalt Therapist and Associate Trainer in Neurolinguistic Programming.M.Ed. University of New Orleans
