Ms. Solis has been a registered nurse for over a decade. She joined the college in 2006 to teach with an emphasis in adult health in the following courses: Health Assessment, Nursing 308 (junior med-surg), and Nursing 400 (senior med-surg), lecturing on topics in the care of the immuno-compromised and the oncology client. Currently, she serves as the course coordinator for Nursing 400 (senior Med-Surg). Her graduate studies included working with a vast population ranging from newborn to geriatrics, following the Family Nurse Practitioner track as her area of concentration. In graduate school, she was awarded Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and she received prestigious recognition by her graduate school for research on Oncology Fatigue. She has been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the Kappa Gamma Pi Honors Society. Professionally, she is a member of American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, National Student Nurses’ Association (sustaining member), Louisiana State Nurses Association, and New Orleans District Nursing Association.
