Department/Program: Nursing and Allied Health
Dr. Martin has been a registered nurse for twenty-seven years. She is Course Coordinator for Nursing 402 Perspectives in Nursing. Dr. Martin also teaches in Community Health Nursing, Leadership in Nursing, and Nursing Care of Childbearing Women and Children. Her doctoral studies focused on quality improvement in health care and clinical practice. Her capstone project focused on health literacy among older adults specific to medication administration. Dr. Martin is the faculty counselor for Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She is also a member of the American Nurses Association, The National League of Nursing, and the Louisiana State Nurses Association, District 05. She was awarded the 2009 Cynthia H. Frances Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital Endowed Professorship II in Nursing.
