Professor DiMaggio has been a registered nurse for 16 years working in the areas of adult health and healthcare management. Ms. DiMaggio has worked for both Tulane Hospital and Ochsner Hospital in medical surgical and neurological departments. She has worked in home health as a field nurse, case manager, and director of nursing. Ms. DiMaggio has served as director of nursing for an intermediate care facility for adults with developmental disabilities. She has worked in managed care in both quality improvement and disease management.
Ms. DiMaggio has been a licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing since 1996. In 2005, Professor DiMaggio completed a preceptorship in “Pallative Care” at Ochsner Foundation Hospital through Loyola University of New Orleans. She joined the college fall of 2007. She teaches with faculty of Nursing 400 and Nursing 200 (Fall Semester) and with faculty of Nursing 308 and Nursing 402 (Spring Semester). In November, 2005, Ms DiMaggio received the Endowed Professorhip 1 in Nursing from the Eminent Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital. Professor DiMaggio was the recipient of the St Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 1985.M.S.N. Loyola University of New Orleans, (May, 2005)
