Department/Program: Nursing and Allied Health
Ms. Althans has been a registered nurse for 30 years. At present she is the Program Coordinator for the RN to BSN Online Degree Program. She is also the Course Coordinator for Community Health Nursing NSG 420 and teaches in Nursing Care of Childbearing Women and Children. She joined the College in 1989 as a full time faculty member. Her graduate studies revolved around the expectant family and newborn. She is certified by the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialities as an In-patient obstetrical nurse. She has co-authored a test bank for the 7th edition of Olds and London’s Maternal-Newborn Nursing & Women’s Health Care. She has received honorariums for reviewing book proposals as well. Ms. Althans' area of specialty is Labor and Delivery nursing, with a special interest in fetal monitoring.
