Anita Althans, RNC BSN MSN

Abstract

Professor Althans has been a registered nurse for 28 years. At present she is the Course Coordinator for Dimensions of Professional Nursing, NSG 200. She also teaches in Nursing Care of Childbearing Women and Children, Health Assessment and Community Health Nursing. She also is the Course Coordinator for NSG 420 Community Health Nursing, in addition to being the coordinator for NSG 200 Dimensions. She joined the College in 1989 as a full time faculty member. Her graduate studies revolved around the expectant family and newborn. She is certified by the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialities as an In-patient obstetrical nurse. She has co-authored a test bank for the 7th edition of Olds and London’s Maternal-Newborn Nursing & Women’s Health Care. She has received honorariums for reviewing book proposals as well. Ms. Althans' area of specialty is Labor and Delivery nursing, with a special interest in fetal monitoring.
